Dealership Intake Question

I'm sure that a lot of us are leasing our G37s. If we swap the stock intakes for aftermarkets (injen, etc.), will there be an issue with the dealership when they service our cars? (i.e. will they say something like "no we won't service it" or what?

They won't say "we won't service it". They just can't do specific things when they do servicing such as with intakes, they just can't change the air filters. The best thing to do is to ask the service consultants at the dealer what aftermarket parts they approve installing that won't end up in them voiding parts of the warranty.

Dealer can never just "void your warranty" they have to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that your mods caused the specific problem that you're having. It's not like they can just refuse to fix your muffler rattle because you put an intake on, the only thing they could do is refuse to repair your intake if it had problems. Of course if you blew and engine I'm sure they would try to blame it on the intake, but as I said, they would have to prove it, and I don't think that would be possible because of an intake. If you blew your engine OBV. there was a problem with the engine, this isn't going to happen due to an intake, that's for sure.

This is exact quote listed by infiniti, got it from their Fujita ad,

Disclaimer: When installing non-Infiniti aftermarket products on your vehicle, you assume the risk that if you later present your vehicle for a warranty repair, the claim will be denied if the repair is determined to be necessary due to the non-Infiniti part/accessory or its installation."

If you are THAT worried about it. Just replace the intakes with the stock ones. Thats what I did with previous cars. Not a big deal. Intakes will take you a half hour tops...
