Intake worth it?

If so which do you believe will produce most power. If not out now, look back at the g35c which ever preformed the best on the g35c and ill just wait it out.

nice poll...even tho the only intake on the poll that's out is the stillen...so how can there be a really fair poll?
and looking bak on the g35c isnt really a good idea considering the engines are quite different

Really the only option is to just wait it out... see what happens and then jump on the bandwaggon. Thats the smartes thing to do.

Some people claim an intake makes no power at all. Some say there worth every penny....

3rd party before and after dynos are really the only way to 90% tell.

Oh well Im goin to get one when more options come out.

just wait a bit is my advice......

i think the highest gains were with the stock boxes and drop in k&n's. correct me if i'm wrong, but in the long run, those guys running long tube cai's were losing torque on the low end for minimal high rpm hp gain. even the stillen box rated lower than stock w/drop ins.

I think its a waste of money. Save up for an exhaust so you can actually feel the gains and sound mean.

exhausts on the last gen. did not show much gain for the cost. they were running anywhere from $800-$1400 and were only showing around 15hp peaks gains.

edit: a z tube and a stillen box made a huge difference in sound. g35's had a definite roar at wot with intake mods. most considered them just that--sound mods.

Since there's not too many mods out yet for the 37 id suggest getting all the N/A parts now and out of your way so your ready for FI when it comes out. I just think an exhaust is worth saving up for FIRST. Intake is ***** mod JMO, but yea it was my first mod 3 years ago when I didn't know much.

worth it if:

you want to dress up your engine bay
get a nice sound

not worth it if:

you want reasonable power increase

the power difference between the different intakes will be too small to really make a difference

i'll probably be going with the injen, or whichever i think looks better

Price no option, I'd get an ARC if they ever come out with an intake for the 37...the machine work is a work of art. Price accounted for, AEM, Injen, etc are all going to be comparable. The thing that matters the most is the filter. Most companies use the standard cotton renamed/generic K&Ns which are proven. I'd avoid HKS simply b/c they use a foam filter (especially if you're running nitrous as they're known to have been blown apart and get sucked into the engine). Blitz offers a SUS intake which my buddy had on his WRX. Looks/sounds decent, but I doubt it flows better than a standard K&N.

So K&N are the best filters on the market right now? If so worth grabbing a pair?
