XM Radio and NavTraffic and NavWeather

Has anyone managed to get a free trial period for NavTraffic in Canada? I spoke to XM Radio and apparently I need the dealer to request (and pay for) free trial periods.

Also, NavWeather is not available in Canada and our subscription fees for XM Radio and NavTraffic are more expensive than the US (let alone we must bundle XM Radio with NavTraffic)? What gives? I thought they just press some buttons on their computers to activate our accounts?
