Guys,
Here's the thing about group buys- any discount is more of a discount than they'd give you otherwise, even if it is small. As a buyer you really don't have any say so as to how much discount they should give, it's a gift. You can say thank you and take it or skip buying it altogether. If your boss offered you a $100 bonus at work, would you complain that it should have been $1000 or say thank you and put it in you mod fund? I can guess that if you chose to complain it might be the last time you'd be offered any bonus at all. I certainly hope that as a forum the recent complaining about group buy discounts doesn't discourage vendors form even offering this forum any discounts in the future.
Nobody but the vendor knows how much the true cost of a product is. And it's nobody's business but theirs. Costs include the cost of R&D, materials, labor, marketing, and profit needed to make it worthwhile to bring a product to market. It's probably higher than you realize. Not to mention, they are in business to make money and profit to pay their bills and keep their employees employed, not give charity to people simply because they want a discount.
I understand that it's not much. But everyone is welcome to skip it if the price is too much to them. Just don't crap on a gift that's offered or it may not be again.
That's just my opinion having been a business owner and a consumer and seeing both sides of the transaction.

I understand where your coming from BB. I own a business too and know how it feels when your making a small margin of profit and people asking for discounts. Getting to what the discount should be I don't mind Paying the normal price either, and since there are only 2 people or 3 if we include James if it fits the sedan.

^ some people get used to vendors like Tony from Motordyne giving $300-500 discount on group buys and then scoff at small discounts. I do think for that much guarenteed business a vendor would be more competitive but its their judgement call on recouping r&d costs, parts, labor, and enough profit to cover overhead. if you ask me its worth every penny of the marked price for the amount of ponies it frees up from rotating mass. just my .02

like i said before this is their product. they have all the markup. if someone is pinching pennies so bad they need a 6% discount on a $400 item then they need to re-evaluate their budget. sorry but $25 off $430 for a group buy is a joke. z1 marketing fail
