I don't know enough to know: Z1 has no listing for a G37 driveshaft on their site. (Nor any G37 parts?) Is the G35 EXACTLY the same? That's listed.

I have a coupe. I would have to discuss this with my builder that it would be a benefit and not break more easily than stock.

So, I'm a definite maybe.

Do you guys think this is stronger than stock driveshaft. How would it affect component around it. I don't know much about this part, so someone with more experience and knowledge please explain. I'm down for the mod but want to know the pros and cons before I do anything

It is stronger. The stock is made with a steel surrounding and also is two pieces, which causes a lot of added weight. The aluminum is a lot lighter, but just as, if not, more durable then our stock steel one. Less rotational mass = power to the wheels because of less drivetrain loss.

I recommend you read this article about how aluminum driveshafts work and their benefits. Especially pay attention to the paragraph titled "Smoother Running."

Aluminum Driveshaft Benefits | eHow.com

The reason our car has a two piece steel driveshaft is because if it was one, it would flex because of the heavy weight. With aluminum, it's less then likely to happen.

Hope this helps!

Staples: Thanks for both of those links.

Yes, I'm firmly interested. Still awaiting the 'deal'.

if this group buy was in 2 months id be willing to pay 350 total, but it needs to be <300 total for me right now. i just added other parts recently. this driveshaft is my last performance upgrade so hopefully they dont bs a price discount. cuz $50 off isnt much and then considering its thier product. btw i expect 5 whp gain from this part

ive told other people this but those prices are pretty high and the difference from the z1 isnt going to be much unless you just want to be able to say you have a cf one. the difference in power will be like another 4 whp at most. so if you want to spend an extra 700 for 4 hp go for it

did they say anything about the sedans. I dont mind the price, but it has to fit on my car. Plus how hard would this be to install by myself?
