My new G37 -Slate blue, Journey w/ sport and premium packages

holy moly this car is fun and I haven't seen what she can do yet. I only have 400 miles and am being patient, until I hit 1200 miles (is that the rule of thumb?). Of course when I test drove the dealer model I opened her up.

I got the slate blue with sport and premium packages and couldn't be happier. First car I've owned with paddles. So a whole new concept of driving I have to learn. Had fun in the test drive with them, but I felt guilty of committing abuse.

Any tips from the more seasoned owners? Please feel free to share.

Well, I drove through a puddle a few days ago not thinking anything of it, then later that day realized it was water mixed with limestone when it seemed my car was covered in cement. I was in West Miami-Dade for business and I've since learned there are limestone quarries, or whatever you call them in the area. I've washed the car several times but can't get rid of the film residue on the body and the rims. The tires needless to say look like crap. Car only has 700 miles on it. It is killing me. A brand new car and it looks old already. I can only imagine how bad the bottom of the car is. I sprayed the wheel wells several times and I still get limestone coming out - - it's as though there is an endless amount of limestone in the wells. The company should hang by the ***** for negligently, more like intentionally, allowing the runoff to hit a public street, ruining all the cars that have driven through the crap. They gave no warning whatsoever. I thought it was harmless water. I'm still pissed four days later.

Probably a good idea to take it to a professional detailer. Being a new car it probably needs to be clayed anyway, they should be able to get the film off and put on a selant.

thanks for the tip I'll bring it to a detailer, though I never heard of the term "clayed" before.

The detailer will definitely know about the wonderful clay bar. I'm sorry to hear about your car. I would die!

Bring us up to speed on where you are with your Journey Sport---did you get the residue off, #1, and then, #2 did you get it broken in enough to do some high rpm runs in the car. How do you like it now? Getting the "hang" of the paddles, finally?
