Oil pan gasket leak

Hi, 2014 Q60 55k miles. oil changed yearly,
A few drips on the driveway led me to searching for an oil leak.
When placing paper around the oil pan i can see oil seaping through, right on the gasket line in a particular area. (not from above, not from drain plug or filter)
Luckily one of my photos captured what looks like a damaged section shown in the white-ish gasket.
I''ve purchased a new gasket and will attempt the removal and install.
It looks pretty straight forward but I'm wondering if there are any additional tips you can share and any idea why the existing would fail me at low-ish mileage. Looks like a chunk is missing.
