Minor Oil Leak

Hey guys yesterday I noticed that my oil was leaking around the oil filter It was only 3 little drops from one night to the morning which isn't a lot so I changed it again and this morning the same thing happened but I haven't jacked the car up to see the problem.

Any ideas as to what it could be?

Thanks

Oil filter not tight enough could be the culprit.

make sure the old oil filter seal isn't stuck to the block. It can come off and when you put the new one on with the new gasket, it will leak..

make sure there isn't any oil residue on the plastic cover, it may appear as an oil leak, when in fact, its probably just leaking from the plastic itself.

Alright guys I haven't had a chance to look at the car jacked up today, but I wanted to see how much I need to tighten the oil filter after I hand tighten it.

Thanks

Filter

Could be a defective filter. I have been changing oil at home for years. Once, only once, I got a bad one. I had to take it off and replace it.
