Inside of Steering Wheel is vibrating

Hello, I have a g37x sedan with 88k miles, I just recently bought it and noticed that whenever I do fast accelerations or drive fast in general the inside of my steering wheel tends to vibrate. It’s not shaking or turning to any side but it feels as if the inside is vibrating. Mostly the right side of the wheel. Anyone know what could be causing this? (P.s my stock catalytic converters were welded and hollowed out by the previous owner, not sure if it has anything to do with it)

Wheel as in steering wheel i guess?

Steering wheel vibration could be caused by an unbalanced condition of one or both front tires and/or wheels. Thats assuming you feel a vibration in your hands when they are on the steering wheel.

Or do you mean you hear a vibration or rattle inside the center steering wheel cover or column cover? in that case, there could be something loose or broken inside. Maybe some maintenance was done and something got messed up when it was put back together.

Is it the original steering wheel or an aftermarket wheel?

yes it is the steering wheel, sorry for not clarifying I just updated my post and fixed it. It’s a fully stock steering wheel. I had gotten a new set of tires and gotten them aligned and balanced since the old ones were completely worn out. I don’t feel any vibration on the center of the steering wheel but I do feel it on the handles of the steering wheel, particularly the upper right hand side. Not when I’m driving at low rpm’s but as soon as I do a pull I start feeling it more and more the higher rpm I go.

Could be engine vibration from high rpms and heavy loading feeding back into the steering wheel. Do you know if any engine or suspenson mods were done? Maybe aftermarket motor or transmission mounts?

from what I know everything looks stock other than the catalytic converters being welded and gutted. I’m somewhat new to cars so I’m not too sure about any motor or transmission mounts. I heard something like that the engine mounts can cause the vibrations possibly?

I would go with engine vibration. Probably not going to be a big problem. I get some minor engine vibes as well when pushing it.

yea u don’t think it’ll be a major issue just feels a little annoying at times. It’s like i can feel the engine through the steering wheel. I might try and swap the tires to the other side to see if the vibration changes to the left side of the steering wheel instead of the right to see if a tire/wheel issue. Would there be any other ways to maybe fix this, something with my steering wheel directly?
