Airbag light is flashing

My airbag light suddenly started flashing. One day the car was slow to start, turns out the battery was going bad. After jump starting with a jump box I noticed the airbag light was flashing. I installed a new battery checked the charging system all good, I also checked the airbag fuse next to the parking brake. Fuse was good. Anyone know what else I can check. Vehicle has not been wrecked, I’ve had it for two years…

Thanks 13_SklineSedan, I tried it 3 times as in the video and even 4 times as per other comments. Now it does one long and seven short flashes. Any ideas?

It appears that, somehow, you entered the self-diagnostic function. Unfortunately, "7 flashes" indicates a major malfunction within the control unit:

The ACU has capacitors that store a small charge to allow for airbag deployment in the event of battery damage.

My guess? With your low battery issue the jumper pack may have caused a power spike that shorted the SRS control unit ("ACU").

Wish there was better news but it appears that the ACU has to be replaced.

This worked like a charm for me!

Started my car after it was sitting for weeks in increasingly low temperatures (down into the 20s). Airbag light was blinking

i did the car on/off procedure 3 times as noted above, making sure each time to turn the car off right when the airbag light turned off.

After three tries, I started the car up, but the air bag light was still blinking. But more slowly.

Did the on/off procedure once more, and that did the trick. Airbag light is off for good now. And my car is now going on a battery tender for the rest of the winter.

Thanks for the useful comments here
