Interchangeable parts 2011 to 2008

I have a 2011 g37 7at (front driver side wrecked) I was wondering what all I could swap into my 08 g37 5at? Like can I swap the entire head units so I could have navigation? Can I swap transmissions and ecu so I could keep my ecutek tune?

Not to be a naysayer, but Infiniti/Nissan made so many changes from one model year to another, that I doubt there's much interchange between models that are three model years apart. Examine the FSMs between the 2008 and 2011 models to look at the wiring diagrams to figure out the differences.

You running ecutech on a stock 2008 ecu, with the 5AT?
There are multiple posts about adding/swapping in navigation. Check them out.
The best way would be to have everyting from thr donor car. Harness, gauge cluster, all the little modules, screen(s), IDPM, Everything electronic.
and mke sure the Bose/not Bose stuff in the trunk is compatible too

Ask your tuner about moving your tune to a 7AT ECU.

Good luck and
Let us know how it goes!

It makes no sense to swap the 2011 AV/NAV into the 2008 anymore. The 2011 tech is already 12/13-years-old and the maps/ software updates are no longer available from Infiniti- not that the system was all that great when it was "new." There are far too many newer, more modern aftermarket options available that would be almost entirely plug-and-play. Ten years ago when I did the swap, those aftermarket options did not exist. If I had to do it all over again, today, I would not.

Why go through all the work of updating to 2011 when you'll still be stuck with a old, deprecated system that offers nothing "extra?"

Just my 10¢.

From what I have been told though to use ecutek tune in my 2008 g37 I would have to swap out the ecu, transmission wiring, harness, etc. So it wouldn't be like I was doing it just to swap over the navigation it would be more or less just part of the process....also I'm just trying to use more or less what I have here at the shop

I've been told a few people have figured out how to run ecutec with the 5AT!
One guy even said with the stock '08 ECU.
it's on my to do list. If only for the "on the fly" flex fuel.
But i haven't actually seen it done yet
