Anyone Replaced Backup Sensors?

Two of my sonar sensors on the rear bumper of my 2012 G37S coupe are acting up since a recent car wash. Dealer wants $1200 to replace them, but I've found the sensors themselves only cost $225 each. When I asked the dealer to justify their price they said the rear bumper has to be removed to get at the sensors, so most of their charge is labor.

Anyone tried to do this job themselves?

Dealer is telling the truth, the book says to remove the bumper to get to the sensors. Here's the specific sonar FSM for your 2012 (thanks to NICOclub):

Be aware that the sensors are not all the same, corners are specific and directional...

But before you get into all that - how did a car wash mess up your sensors in the first place? Are you sure that it's a sensor issue?

Thanks for the quick reply and to answer your question, immediately after the car wash (a drive through, no touch type with high pressure jets) my right rear corner sensor would start beeping whenever I put the car in reverse, even though there was nothing nearby. I then noticed some of the paint had come off this sensor, probably from the high pressure jets of the car wash.

This same car wash had also damaged the silver finish on my 19" Enkei's and had caused it to start flaking off and I just finished having all 4 wheels stripped to bare metal and refinished by Wheels America.

Needless to say, I now have more than one good reason not to use this car wash again in the future......
