Intelligent Keys not working. Please advice.
Dear All,
New to the forum here and new G37 owner as well (picture of my 2011 G37x attached!). As the title of the thread says, my two fobs stopped working last Tuesday. I replaced the batteries on both and they still do not communicate with the car. I am able to start the car and drive it by inserting the fobs into the intelligent key port located to the left of the steering wheel. I can do so even when I remove the batteries from the fobs. My ‘intelligent key warning light’ is on before I start the engine and the car asks me to insert/remove the key accordingly. Proceeded by taking the car to the dealer to get the fobs reprogrammed, however, they told me they couldn’t even get on the system and suggested the problem is the BCM (which of course will cost $850 to replace).
I have looked into typical BCM malfunction symptoms and I haven’t noticed any of them. Bottom line, fobs aren’t able to communicate wirelessly with the car. Everything else seems to work accordingly.
Has anyone encountered a similar issue before?

There is a separate module called the "Remote Keyless Entry Receiver" which likely has its own fuse. I can't actually find the circuit in my '13 manuals but it's likely powered through a fuse in the IPDM. If you can find that receiver (near the IPDM in '13), you could check it's connector for power and ground - should be +12 without the car running. Just an idea...
The BCM is like the CPU of all operations so that's why the dealer goes there. And if their Consult diagnostics rig can't communicate with all the car's black boxes, that may be the issue.
