Dealer Maintenance + modified parts
Dealer Maintenance + modified parts
I got a dealer maintenance reminder in the mail but since the previous one, I've had my exhaust modified and got some aftermarket wheels.
I've read that if your modified parts are found to be the cause of the issue, they may be able to void your warranty. But if nothing seems to be wrong, is it still safe to go in for maintenance with modified parts anyways or can they reject you on the spot?

Magnasun-Moss Warranty Act.
Dealer has to prove your modification caused the problem you want them to fix. My dealer never gave me any grief about my exhaust or front upper control arms. But then, I never brought them a problem involving either.

go forth and maintain. they may refuse to take off your custom rims if you have non-standard lug nuts, or something along these lines - like if you have as strut bar and they have to pull the upper intake plenum. but reg. maintenance - oil change et.al. you should be just fine. talk to service advisor.
