Knocking Sounds at take off

2011 G37S 60k miles

Been having a lot of knocking sounds when I start from a standstill.

e.g. Stopping at a light then when I apply gas it sounds like a diesel engine for 1 sec then it's fine. I use Premium gas so I know that's not the issue.

Bought one of those BlueDriver Bluetooth contraptions to see if I could pull a code and I am getting a U1000
U1000-01: CAN communication circuit : General Electrical Failure

Is that the CaM communication sensor? If it is where is that located? Front of the engine? I would assume there are 2 of them?

I would assume to take off the plug and clean the contacts to see if that fixes the issue.

If I need to replace them I would assume it's just a remove and replace?

Thanks in advance.

CAN is the CANbus, the electronic backbone by which the sensors are read by the ECU.

Ah! OK that's near the battery if I remember correctly. It's where some of the fuses are. Hopefully something came lose. I hope.
