Theres nothing wrong with working the powerband per se...I just don't expect good mileage from it....I've had my G for years now as a daily, and trust me I know, with good maintenance you can track it and push it hard regularly and it won't flinch...also, i'm pretty sure it benefits from being driving at WOT from time to time under the right conditions... but gas mileage wise, you can go through a full tank on these cars in a couple of hours on a track day working it through the band the whole time, which again is perfectly fine if the cars well maintained.

ahh, all good, n yeah will deff agree, maintenance level def dictates reliability factor, running 5w30 royal purple with oil changes every 3500-4000km, but revisiting orig post, my driving habits haven't changed, but fuel consumption has increased 15-20%+, i had contemplated whether or not the cats were plugged up, but being i generally run at higher rpm on avg.. its unlikely, and if they were plugged solid, im sure with how i drive i would of popped a headgasket by now...

my best guess is, airfilters are due for service, o2 sensors should be replaced, maf sensors need to be cleaned/replaced n plugs (without question) are due to be changed.

upon extended reading, seems that plugs are a big deal @ ~100k.
accounting for as much as a 15-20% hp increase on dyno runs from old to new plugs.

will post update after i get a chance to change plugs/air filters + o2 sensors
