Infiniti G37 noise when accelerating after stop
#16
Add me to the list - 2009 G37 Sedan. I hear it when leaving work after about 10 minutes of driving, after I come to a stop, then accelerate off the line (not a hard acceleration). Rattles for a little less than 1 second then it's gone abruptly. Just started about a week ago, but it has been very consistent, happening once or twice per drive home. Sounds a lot like engine knock to me.
I'm going to hook my ODBII sensor + Torque app and see what I see, will report back.
The weather has recently changed here (in Atlanta) getting colder. I'm also due for an oil change.
I'm a stock '09 G37 S, 70K miles, Full synthetic, Premium gas, every time.

just trying to figure out if using only Full synthetic, Premium gas helped reduce the noise in my car at all ? I got my car second handed and I am pretty much sure previous owner never care about it at all. as it was 3 years leased car

did you purchased the car new and ALWAYS used "Full synthetic, Premium gas" since day 1?

you said rattle but if by any chance that noise also happens to sound like a whine/air pressure its normal. I have it to and googled and lots of people here it. Its just the engine. Kind of sounds like a miny turbo/supercharger you can slightly hear when its quiete 😂

Same exact sound as OP here. Full Tanabe exhaust and Takeda intake so I ruled out those already. I keep thinking it's the throttle bodies since the sound they make after shut off kinda sounds like the rattling sound but who knows??

2011 G37S - 85k mi sedan owner here. After reading through this thread and seeing that no one really understands what this noise is, I have my local Infiniti stealership a call thinking they might be able to shed light on this. Perhaps Nissan had given them a briefing on it. Nope, they had no idea what I was talking about.
I put 0W-40 in during my last oil change, which seemed to remedy the issue for a while, but now it's back. I live in a region that is very hot (southern california) but recently it has gotten colder and the noise has gotten louder.
I will be selling the car soon and I would love to eliminate this noise before hand. It's a "luxury car" that knocks. Not good.
