I'm getting my windows tinted on Monday morning, how do I disable the auto up/down on the window when I open/close the door? I didn't see any fuses to specifically pull so I was looking for you guys that have had your windows tinted for some guidance. Thanks.
Tinted mine not to long ago. Typically the dealers who tint your glass knows whats up with coupes and reinforced glass. The guy said to me it's nothing to worry about. Everything turned out perfect in the end.
i didn't have to do anything special with my tinted windows. tinter said it wouldn't cause any problems. they only recommended not to roll down the windows at all.
i wouldnt worry about it affecting the tint. no need to be that paranoid. plus why would u want it turned off then ull have trouble opening and closing the door.
Mine started peeling in the corner after about 6 months. But you don't wanna disable the up/down of the window. Reason being my window motor went out and started chipping away the paint. Your window seals your door so don't disable or you'll have a rough time getting in and out of the car

If my memory serves me, the way to partially disable the auto up is to slightly loosen the screw on the door open/close sensor (pictured) without taking it off completely. The tint shop will loosen the screw only when applying the window film to raise the window to the top before applying the film. After the window film is affixed, they will apply a heat gun to the edges of the film to partially hasten drying so that the door sensor can be reactivated before you leave and the slight up and down of the window won't affect the film while curing. In other words a good tint shop will know what to do.
What I do recommend before getting your window tinted is to meticulously clean the rubber seals around the top of the windows because if the tint shop doesn't thoroughly clean that area, dust will get underneath the tint and leave bubbles at the very top edges of the the window.
Good info but I wouldn't disable the auto up/down permanently lol, just for a couple days to let the tint dry. They said if it peels from the auto up/down they wont warranty that issue this time since one, they warned me and two, that's the sole reason I'm getting my windows tinted, again..
