Oil filter leaking

I just changed the oil and filter on the 2009 G37 I purchased about three months ago and I just realized that oil filter (Bosch) is leaking. I've read several complaints about Bosch filters leaking. I want to change only the filter so I was trying to find out if I pull the oil filter off, will I only lose the oil that's in the filter plus maybe a little more or will I lose most of the oil in my engine?

You'll lose enough that you'll have to top up likely. Did you make sure the gasket of the old filter came off, did you put oil on the new gasket on the replacement filter, and did you ensure not to over tighten it?

I did everything like I've done for the past 30 years of changing my own oil and this is only the second filter that I've ever had leak. The only other leak was the last filter I put on my Miata which was a STP filter. I read a review on Amazon in which the guy stated that there is a new redesign on several brands of filters that has been causing leaks. Maybe I've bought 2 of those brands...
