I have a 2012 and I'm thinking I should replace my battery. A 35 is $75 at Costco.

With little use the car gets I decided to keep it on a battery tender when not in use. Should help prolong the battery life, esp during winter.
I ordered mine online and went to pickup when they notified me it was ready and there was this young petite gal at the pickup desk and I told her it was heavy but she insisted she can handle it and OMG the poor gal....Had to push it across the floor. Anyways I asked her if she needed to punch the out the month and year on the battery sticker so we know when it was purchased but she had no idea and told me to wait while she calls a manager and I said that's OK no worries. So I will just hang onto the receipt plus they stuck a label to the battery with my name and the order date and pickup date so I think I will good should it fail within 40 months. Thanks.

HI Everyone,
I need some assistance with my car battery. the oem battery is currently 700 cca but when I look up batteries at advanced auto parts, all i find is 630/640 or 650 cca recommended batteries
Also the most warranty i find is 3 yrs what's up with that. I remember when i replaced the battery for my 2002 Nissan maxima i had 5 year warranty. What am i missing here ?

I learned the same thing a few years ago. It seems there have been some changes in the battery industry. I was used to paying about $75 for a battery with a long warranty. I had bought batteries in the past with warranties as long as 7 years (prorated). That does not seem to be the practice any more. And prices are up as well. My most recent purchase was from Sams Club. Their prices are as good as anyone I could find. I can't speak for the longevity yet. They offer a 3 year 100% warranty and then nothing past that. That was about the best warranty I could find as well.

I got a 5 year Battery about 6 or 7 years ago its an AGM battery....IIRC most of the batteries with warranties that long are 5 AGM at least up here in Canada...not that they necessarily last longer and that others all of a sudden don't last as long, I just assumed it was a way to make the more expensive product more attractive to buyers who don't see the the value in AGM batteries on its own... FWIW, my 5 year battery is still going strong as far as I can tell and has never let me down..

I have not used an AGM, pretty much for the same reasons. I don't know that batteries are any worse today than they were in the past. Maybe the manufacturers were just loosing too much money on the longer warranties and they all kind of agreed to scale back on it. My practice these days is to pro-actively replace my batteries at about 5 years. At that point I figure I have gotten my money out of it and I would rather replace it at my convenience rather than whenever it decides to die. From my experience most batteries last 5-7 years. The only ones I remember lasting less than 5 were OEM batteries in new cars. Those seem notorious for being crap. The original battery in my G died at 3-1/2 years. The auto parts store replacement is still good at nearly 5 years. I will be replacing it with a Sam's Club battery.

My original battery was replaced by the dealer at about 3-1/2 years. I couldn't tell it was losing power. The replacement (4-years old now) is acting like it's loosing some oomph now that the weather has turned cold. Might just be a light-weight battery in my near future.

Same, still on original battery from April 2013. Will keep an eye on it, especially now that the weather's breaking.

Any recent consensus on which batteries offer best value?

I just installed this puppy today. It got cold here a few days ago and my car had a really weak start. Instead of waiting for it to leave me stranded, I went ahead and replaced it. This 24F battery size is actually for the M37, but it fits in our G's and has a lot more CA's and CCA's than the 35. Plus, you can't beat the warranty and Home Depots are located EVERYWHERE.

I have no subs or any of that aftermarket audio but would like a quality replacement... Any thoughts and or recommendations ???
3 years in, no issues. Cranked up every time. I’m sure it’s getting close to that time to replace. I’ll probably go Braille next time around

What's the comparison with Braille in regards to weight, CCA, warranty, and price?

Unless you want less weight, the Exide battery was the better buy for me.

mine did - $99 Home Depot Exide in KungFooFireman's link.
i couldn't even find another battery with 800CCA, and the ones with 650-700 were almost twice the price.
