Great Info

Fellas, Some great information splattered all over the discussion boards. Thanks!
I have a 2012 G37s Sedan 6MT with about 67k Kilometers i.e., approx 40k miles. I bought the car as a demo and still have original battery. The battery hasn't died or given any trouble yet but the past 2 days it is cranking longer to start. Temperature has been -24 C and hasnt gone above -10 C for over a week. After going through all the forums, Here are my choices in GTA:
1. Exide 24FXC - CAD146 from HD
2. OEM (interstate) - CAD152 from Woodchester Infiniti in Mississauga
I will also check what sizes does Costco have in stock. I am leaning towards a beefier CCA. Will also check the price for OEM M37 battery.
Any suggestions for the GTA locale...
I have stumbled across the forum before but just joined.
Thanks for the wealth of informative discussions..

Costco doesn't have the 24F or 35 out west at least. Get the 24F battery.

What a coincidence, I was at Costco looking to buy a battery yesterday The original battery on my car (~ 5 years) is dead so I was just going to replace it instead of charging / jumping it. Unfortunately, they were all out of both batteries, so I'm going to have to go back.

The two options they have for our car is a 24F / 700 CCA and a 35 / 550 CCA. I think he said the 35 is $85 and the 24F is $95. I'm going to buy the 24F once they come back in stock.

Had mine replaced a couple weeks ago. Brought it to Sullivan Tire and they gave me an AC Delco w/650 CCA. They charged less for the battery including install than if I were to buy just the battery at the closest auto parts store. Beats having to install it myself in below zero weather!

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it at Sullivan Tire? There's one a couple of miles away from me. The only thing is I would need to jump my car to get there.

Started thread 2 years ago. Just wanted to share, the optima red top has worked 100% thus far for last 2 years. No issues of any kind. Highly recommended. Pretty sure it lost some weight also...

Definitely do the 24F. When you're putting everything back together make sure the positive cable isn't in the way of the battery tray clipping down before you clip it all back together.

They charged $131.75 for the battery and install. O'Reilly's wanted $140ish for just the battery. If you have an Advance Auto near you check them too. Getting one for my wife's Lexus using a 30% off code and they (at least the one near us) will do the install right there.

I forgot to update back, but I swapped out the battery a couple of weeks ago. I bought the 24F from Costco for $95 and will get $15 back after I return the old battery. It was a pretty simple install after I figured out how to get the trunk open without battery power lol. I grabbed the 10mm wrench from the trunk and installed it in under 30 minutes.

That was a big change from my old BMW, which took me around 2 hours and a cut on the hand to install.

You used the pass through panel in the back seat to pop the trunk open?

Yeah, I almost didn't think I was going to reach the glow in the dark handle, but after struggling a bit, I managed to grab on to it.

Thanks a lot guys. My '13 G37x battery died yesterday and I picked up the 24FX from home depot for $100 and installed it today. What a pain to have to remove all of that crap to get to the battery but everything is great once again. Will keep the receipt in case I have any issues down the road as it has a 40 month warranty. Not sure if that is an exchange with HD or with Exide but those that have this battery how has it been working for you?

My one exchange with home depot was just an even exchange. They didn't even generate a new receipt. In fact, they had no clue how to handle it so just said to take a new one and leave the old. I suppose that means the warranty is from the original date of purchase. Next time around I'll be getting the battery from costco.

With little use the car gets I decided to keep it on a battery tender when not in use. Should help prolong the battery life, esp during winter.
