Yep. Common issue with the Gs. It's usually a torn/worn or dried seal somewhere. Depending on the issue, some have repaired the tear or lubed the seals to fix the problem. There are others that have not been able to find or fix. It's annoying, but very common.

Typically just a nuisance. I haven't found the source of my whistling yet. Partially because I rarely don't have music playing, but it also only comes up at certain speeds and depends on wind direction. It's a PIA to locate.

Whistling/howling noise when I reach highway speeds

Sorry for bumping an old thread but I had this same issue in my Z and low and behold it happened in the G I just bought. In both the Z and now the G the culprit is the rubber seal that goes around the tweeter on the inside and slips over the top corner of the side mirror outside. It can either get a slight tear where the mirror corner slips under or if the door panel was ever removed the seal might not be seated correctly. It's about a $30-40 part and I'd advise replacing it yourself since the dealer wanted 2.5 hours of labor and it can easily be done in the garage in 45 minutes if your familiar with removing the door panel. Hope this helps and if you need a picture of the piece I'm talking about let me know.

No problem, I'll snap a couple pics tmrw and post em up. It's really surprising that something so small can make such a difference in cabin noise once you realize where it's coming from. It took me months of trial and error on the Z to find it because it's something most would have last on the list or never even look at.

That is what I am hoping, i have tried lots of "major" things which looked like they could be the culprit, hoping this is my issue. Thanks again.

Sorry for the delay but here are the photos of the typical cause for the wind noise in the cabin.

The tiny little tear seems to be caused by the adjusting up and down when the door opens over time wearing down the rubber and splitting it. That's where the air is entering the cabin and because it's so small you only hear it when at cruising speed when the pressure is the strongest and able to get thru the tear.

IIRC, the part cost about $40 when I bought one a couple years ago for my Z. It looks like the same exact part on the G and the replacement process is pretty easy. You just take off the interior door panel, the speaker cover and unbolt the side mirror assembly to free the rubber seal. The only tedious part is getting the new one in there perfectly since there's a little piece with 2 bumps that slip into holes where the window rolls down. Just takes a skinny flat head, a flashlight and some patience.

Thanks for posting these. Unfortunately, mine seem to be in ok shape. I was hoping this was it. I will post once I eventually sort it out.

Thanks again.

1st post.....just purchased a G37 2010X and have a noise at highway speed, sounds like a bad window seal back door passenger side. When I get home from work I will look for the rip by the mirror. I will be following this thread for updates and post anything use full.

found the whistle.....rear passanger side fixed window has a loose seal. When we push on the glass it goes away. Sounds like the seals are really sensitive to rips cuts or wear?
