How much should I expect to spend to replace front windshield?

Safelite does good work, but they don't manufacture the glass. They install the same glass as everyone else. My wife's Sedan has the same Fuyao group windshield installed by Safelite that I have on my coupe. Hers was $300+, mine was $130. As the guy installing my windshield told me, if a rock hits your windshield going 70 mph it doesn't make a hint of difference which manufacturer made your glass, it's gonna break. Period. You can spend a little putting in another one or a lot. And as was mentioned, the tech doing the install is what makes the difference.

Depending on your insurance but most insurance should take care of it depends on your comprehensive deductible.

Depends on what state you live in. Some states require insurance to replace glass for free with no deductible. Unfortunately Texas does not. Your comprehensive deductible isn't less than the price of a discount windshield. I filed a claim the first time my wife's was broken. $250 deductible, $3xx windshield. Wasn't worth it.

In need of some help.

i replaced my cracked windshield about 4 months ago. unfortunately my state GA, and insurance co, both progressive and geico only cover after deductible. I paid 200 with labor to have it replaced and now its cracked AGAIN! Its cracked pretty much in the same spot (right by the rearview mirror) about a 8-10" long hairline crack. Both times it cracked the car was parked. Is this something common with the G37 sedan? what could be causing this? I would hate for this to continue to happen every few months

Weird. No, that's not common. If it's a defect in the material or installation the company you bought it from should cover it under warranty for free. If it's the result of something that struck your windshield, you're on your own. Is there an impact point like a chip or gouge or does the crack start from the edge of the glass with no impact point?
