In another thread someone confirmed that it was due to the low oil pressure and failed or failing internal galley gasket.
After the failed gasket was replaced with new one, the noise was gone and never returned.
I'm hoping it's not the case, as I have the same noise already for whole year. The repair is awfully expensive.

Until you've checked your exhaust heat shields, you cannot give any credence to the galley gasket failure. Heats shields are by far the number one cause of rattling with Gs. So, get your car in the air and check those shields.

G37 rattling

The first time, they couldn't reproduce the problem. The second time, they said it was engine knock and retarded the timing by 2 degrees. Unfortunately, it's still happening. Has anyone had any issues like this? The clip below was recorded from inside the car with the driver's window down. The rattle happens around the 8 second mark.

I'm having similar experiences with the same sound, but it happens when I'm under a low load...
so at 30-40mph it makes the same rattling sound your car is making...
I may have over looked this ,but did you ever found the source of this sound...
I have aftermarket hfc and they dont come with heat shields so I know that's not the problem...
Again did you found the source of this sound...

I had my '09 with only 65k on it, into the dealer because of knocking and pinging only from a dead stop to gentle acceleration. They confirmed the knock and ping, could not find any codes, obviously no CEL, and sent me home with a $170 diagnostic charge and told me I could try an injector flush, etc., but they don't believe it would fix anything. They wanted $300 just to check the damned oil pressure, so I balked. If anyone knows a reasonably competent mechanic in the Verona/Caldwell area of NJ, please IM me!

Rattle issue at idle and in drive/reverse

Found clip loose and broken holding windshield reservoir in place. Hard to believe, that rattle traveled down fender, to body, etc. etc. New clip, rattle resolved.
