Rattling Noise

Hi, I am hoping someone can possibly help me out with a noise question. I have a 2010 G37X and back in mid December I heard what sounded like a scraping kind of rattling sound. Since then I have heard it a few times here and there. Driving with the radio blaring and the heat on I might not have heard it all the time. I stopped for a drive-thru coffee yesterday and when I put the window down I heard it while it was idling. Sometimes I hear it while idling and sometimes driving. When it makes this noise it makes my beautiful G sound like a POS. It is driving me crazy, Please help!!!

Not a good description but I'd bet a dollar on exhaust heat shields. If you are handy you can reach underneath of your cool, not-running car and tap on each section of exhaust pipe with a rubber mallet. The sound should be the same, a basic thud. The pipe(s) with a loose heat shield will sound much different. Variety of ways to solve if this is the case.

First of all, I am a female so I'm not very handy when it comes to working on a car lol. I did just see a recent post and video of my exact metallic noise and it suggested having the dust shields behind the rotors checked.

Hey Cwaligor don't know if you saw my recent post but first the Nissan Tech said it was a dust shield protecting the rotors, later i get a call from the service rep blaming my spacers. I don't believe them one bit but if you have spacers also then maybe its the truth. They described to me one of the spacer lugs brock off somehow and was making that noise, but then they go on to say its secure and good to drive, they just have to remove a piece. Again i don't see how spacers can make that noise.

I only have 54k on it. I took it today and of course he didn't make the noise all day except when I backed out of the garage this morning. Mechanic couldn't see or hear anything. Then he thought I had an oil leak but checked the oil and then said it was fine then said maybe it's power steering fluid. Needless to say nothing was found and I'm so ready to freakin scream!!!
