Adjusting coilovers?

I've been having problems with adjusting my coilovers. I used google and stuff to find out why it's been so dang hard to adjust my height. If i adjust the rears, does both sides have to be up in the air? Sorry I'm not to tech savvy but I'm not sure how the tension would work or make it easier. Same goes for the fronts. Example, I usually lift up the whole right side and work on the right side to adjust the height front and back, then go to the left side. Is that how you correctly do it? or should I lift the rears on both sides and adjust rears first? Sorry for being such a noob and much thanks!

Since you're dealing w/ 4 different shock points you can just jack each one separately. Just figure out how much higher or lower you want each point to be and raise or lower each coilover that amount. Just be sure to retain the same preload on the rear springs (if you have the separate OEM spring setup). In other words if you raise the rear spring up a 1/4" be sure to also raise the shock height the same 1/4"
