Incompatible TPMS sensors?
I just put 2014 Q50 wheels on my G37. See pics here: https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-sed...love-them.html
But now I get the dreaded TPMS light. I followed the procedure from the long 24 page thread on how to reset the system and re learn the sensors with no luck. I can get into the learn mode without problem, but after a few minutes I get a long 7-10 second beep and the light turns solid.
Does anyone know if the sensors from the Q are compatible with the computer on the G? I found the following sensor part #s:
- 2010 G37X - 40700-JK00C
- 2014 Q50 - 40700-1LA0B
If these are not compatible, does anyone know how I can get that damn light off? Do I really need to rip out the old sensors from the old rims and install them in the new rims? That seems like it would be a PITA.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Cool. Thanks, I'll try that. Do you happen to know if I'll still need to go through the learning process after that (inflating all the tires to different PSI, tapping the wire 5 times, etc, as is listed in the "resetting the TPMS" mammoth thread)? Or should I be good to go after they are registered at the tire shop. I'm just trying to manage my expectations at the tire shop.

Just go to the tire shop. Ask them to relearn your TPMS. Better yet, make some phone calls and get the cheapest price.
AFAIK, that dance was last available in 2010, as a way for you to relearn the TPMS all by yourself, without shop support. From what I've read, it's a difficult dance to learn.

It looks like I'll need to go to the dealership or a national chain tire shop and hopefully their equipement can "find" my sensors.
This is getting more difficult. Went to my local mom and pop tire shop and they had the tool, but it wouldn't read my sensor. "Sensor not found" was the error code on the tool. But he had to type the year and make of the car in the tool, and after it didn't work for 2010 G37, we wanted to try 2014 Q50 (since those are what the wheels came off of). But the software on the tool only went up to 2013, and q50 wasn't even listed as an option.

Might be easier to simply swap in your old TPMS sensors from the wheels you took off (assuming you still have them).
Not all places are the same. One of my local tire shops failed to read my right/rear sensor, but a more high-end street/pro shop had no problem. Newer equipment? Newer software? IDK. For sure your local NISSAN dealership would be able to help, and at a cheaper rate than INFINITI.

All because of a little TPMS light on the dash.
LOLBeen there...
To make matters worse, he said that I might not even be able to swap sensors. He wasn't sure becuse they haven't seen many q50s becasue they are so new. But he said the diameter of the hole for the sensor/stem in the q50 wheel MAY be a different size than the g37 wheel.
Awesome. So it looks like I may be living with the light for the forsseeable future.
