g37 sedan automatic in limp mode

2009 G37 automatic....have a code P1608. Vehicle runs good then will go into limp mode. Clear code and car will run fine again. 20 miles or less limp mode comes back. Somethings wrong with the vvel system. Problem is I cant find any repair information about this code, other then a horrible trouble tree on mitchell which has led me to a end telling me to replace both vvel sub actuator motors( I haven't replaced anything yet). Vehicle has been to a few shops before landing in mine....Anyone have any advice or have seen this problem with their vehicle? Any info would be appreciated since I cant find any R&R information or labor times on this system. (this is probably why the other shops dont want to mess with it)

I'm almost positive the vvel assembly is one part that can't just be changed.
I'd do some research on just the vvel portion, so you know how it works.

www.autozine.org

Look under engines, will list anything that is made in a production vehicle.
This should explain what you need.
