2008 G37 limp mode code help
My car went into limp mode and I pulled these codes and would like to check the suggested part against your knowledge base since I don't have the money right now to buy random parts trying to guess what is wrong:
P0300 multiple misfires
P1093 VVEL system performance (bank 2)
P0300 multiple misfires
P1093 VVEL system performance (bank 2)
P100B VVEL response malfunction (bank 2)
Part suggestion: MAF.
Does bank 2 offer any insight as to which MAF is bad?

I think the "ASE suggested solution" is wrong. It is possible a bad MAF can cause misfires, but in your case the VVEL system is not working and that can also cause misfires due to delayed/advanced valve closing.
The lowest cost next option is to buy a cheap ELM327 and app for your phone.
Then you can look at the fuel trims, which will tell you if your car has a rich/lean condition.
You can also look at the "mode $06" data and look at the "misfire" counters and see what is going on.
All that for under $30

I would lean towards a coil but they are very easy to diagnose. While the car is running, try to unplug each coil one at a time until the one you unplug has no effect on the idle. Replace that coil. If your car starts to idle worse for every coil you unplug, then its not a coil problem.
Yeah, MAF didn't work. I'm planning on replacing all 6 spark plugs because it's about that time anyway as well as the PCVs. However, I did buy an OBD2 reader and will plug it in tomorrow. I'll reply with further info after I check it out.
