Hi, my power steering fluid cap says I am supposed to use dexron 3 grade automatic transmission fluid for power steering fluid. I read here http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/app/...icle=800726430 that the auto transmission fluid is not supposed to turn brown and that power steering fluid should stay pink for the life of the vehicle. I am concerned because looking under the hood I noticed the power steering fluid is brown even though I just bought the car with 30k miles on it. I can pump the brown stuff out and refill it with new automatic transmission fluid but want to make sure I take care of a bigger problem now if it exists. Thanks.

 

Post pics of what it looks like in a clear container and put a few drops on a white napkin. It would help to see how "brown" it is.
