2009 G37S shifting issue
2009 G37S shifting issue
I recently noticed that when at a complete stop sometimes it is hard to shift from N to 1st gear. No other gears give me any issues and this only occurs when at a complete stop. Doesn't happen all the time but enough to make me concerned. Car has close to 60K miles on it.
Any suggestions on what might be causing this is appreciated.

I have a 2009 sedan and do not have this issue. Did you mention it to your Infiniti dealership? Did you check your fluid (oil, transmission) levels? Does it happen on incline/decline or on a level road surface?
I did check the fluid levels and they look good as does the color. I'm rarely on an incline so I would have to say happens on flat surface for most part.
I planned on bringing to dealership soon was just looking for ideas to compare to what they suggest.

I have 2 MT Gs. I have this occasionally, particularly when it's cold outside and the transmission hasn't warmed up yet. Very rarely. I typically shift it into 2nd or 3rd and then it will go right into 1st after that.
Shift it into 2nd, then try again.
Also, tap the gas real quick before you go into 1st....as in...raise the revs to about 1000 with a slight tap, and the synchros will be friendlier

Just got back from dealer he remembered previous owner had them install after market performance clutch/flywheel kit when transmission was replaced. Said drove as expected would be a little rougher and noisier then oem version.
