Yeah those are signs its going out^^^ thats how my issue started but good thing we still got the paddles but just not the same currently my DS mode does not work its a $690 fix. At least through dealer and im out of warranty grrrr.

 

Had the same issue. most likely you'll need a new shifter assembly like everyone said. Gotta admit infinity's 5ATs really suck for aggressive driving. haven't had too much experience with the 7AT but can't be too much better i think

 

As far as the temperature comment, i live in florida so the temperature is always constant. for the first 3 years of having the car, i drove the car in DS about 60-70% of the time and it always work. I drive and shift normally, maybe sometimes i do a little aggressive shifts in the beginning but i believe it had only gone out on me a few times while driving. But just recently the past 4-5 months, ive been experiencing where it would go to DS and go straight back to drive. I've had instances where i would put in DS mode but it would not show DS and when i shift it will go to a gear but 5 seconds later it will kick back into D. The funny thing is I believe with newer cars these days with past experiences of BMW, Sh*t starts to break down when the "Warranty" is about to expire. and for this situation, i think it applies. I have the Extended Elite plan and I dont see why The dealership wont just switch the parts out since it doesn't cost them anything.

Aren't the Paddle shifters extra? Because mine doesnt have them.
I had an appointment for tomorrow to fix this issue when i addressed it to dealership on Friday but since everything is working, no point in taking it in.
