Help Bad Battery? Bad Starter?
Bad Battery? Bad Starter?
This is the first time this has ever happened: left the radio on for about 20-30 minutes while finishing up a polish/wax on my car. Big mistake, because now it won't start.
Here's what I did:
1) tried jumping it with a friend's Acura TL. Engine sounds like it's cranking, but very weak.
2) took the battery to Autozone, where I was told the battery was indeed discharged and simply needed recharging. 30 minutes later, the battery is back in, same result as above.
I guess I should have read the manual first to wait longer between starting attempts and such, because after a few more attempts, the engine doesn't sound like it's cranking at all. Instead, the starter clicks rapidly, maybe 7-10 times per second. The windows are stuck all the way down, and every time I open either door, I hear a clicking from the power window switch on the door that's opened. With each click, the interior lights dim, then brighten.
Now I have to wait until Monday morning to get it towed to the dealer. Until then, those trash bags taped on my windows will have to deter any thieves. Does anyone have any suggestions?
UPDATE:
The alarm chirps like normal (earlier, it barely made a sound and the hazards barely blinked). Now, no more clicking coming from the starter, but it sounds like the engine tries to crank for a fraction of a second, then stops... There's still clicking from both windows/doors.

The clicking from the windows is a result of disconnecting the battery. You can reset the windows by holding the window down button for 10 seconds and then pulling them up for 10 seconds.
UPDATE:
Infiniti Roadside Assistance got a tow truck to come out, quick-charge, and jump it.
dropped it off at Austin Infiniti, looks like it's covered under the TSB with the vent control valve issue.
2 hours later, it's ready for me to pick up with a new battery (hopefully one that won't fail)!
