Help Damage wideband o2 sensor

Damage wideband o2 sensor

Hi everyone. My question is, if I do not change out the damaged sensor in my header will it damage my car? I'm not 100% sure but I've done the reset and the CEL comes back on after a few drives. Also, does it affect the performance. Thank you, Don
