Better power after break-in??
I moved from an auto 2008 G37S to a 6MT 2009 G37S. Although I loved the 6MT, I found my 2008 5AT felt WAY faster. Not only from a dig but mainly on the highway. In DS mode, if I floored the car it just flew. For the 6MT, even downshifting into the lowest possible gear for the speed, it felt way more sliggish.
Well in the last week or so, I passed the 1,100 mile mark and am now at 1,500 miles. Lately, the car seems much better with more power and seems to pull better in all gears. Is this me or does the ECU "open up" the engine so to speak after the break-in period? My thought is maybe the ECU is protecting the engine until a certain point. Any ideas?

it's not the ECU, your car simply makes more power after being fully broken in. I can't remember where i read this but peak hp/tq comes around 15-20K miles on a lot of cars and it's about the same with the G.
