Removing window tint film

Any tips on how to remove old window tint? Is there an easy way? This is for an older car with faded, bubbled tint - not Black Betty.

I have done this before with nothing more than a brand new razor blade and 409. The 409 helped release the glue a bit and I did not want to use anything stronger to ensure no damage to interior.

Dishwashing detergent diluted in water applied with a squirt bottle, let sit 10 minites and rub off with your fingers or a terrycloth towel. This is of course after you have peeled off the tint itself.

I am specifically talking about getting the tint itself off, not the adhesive residue. Will a beat gun help? How do tint shops do it?

They peel a corner and yank it off. I comes off in one piece. No heat gun.

Edit: getting the tint off is the easy part. The adhesive is always a pain. I watched a tint guy repair a truck window while I was getting my car done. He ripped off the old tint and soaked the window. A while later he scraped off the glue, which was very soft by then, and wiped it down with a paper towel.

yea, the tint is the easy part..peel it at the corner with a razor blade...once u have lifted the corner, pull it down but leave it semi attached at the bottom...get a bottle of water and baby shampoo and spray that sucker down...then stick the tint back on and let it sit in the sun...keep an eye on it tho..don't let that sucker dry....what your doing is "cooking" the adhesive...this is what softens it up so u can remove it later....

once the adhesive is tacky again....use a razor blade and scrape it off...but leave the tint attached at the bottom...this will help u get all the adhesive removed before actually removing the tint itself....once all the glue is gone, remove the tint and clean up the bottom edges...this way the adhesive from up top doesn't get caught in the rubber or felt lining..

Did one window and decided that this is best left to professionals. Too much trouble for $25 that they'll charge me to remove the old tint. Thanks all for the suggestions.
