LED dash
LED dash
Hello guys, recently The LEDs in the dash of my 2009 g37x sedan have gone out. The ones that show the milage and stuff. It’s just solid red now. I’m curious is there a replacement screen that can be connected and have it be to the side? I know replacing the LEDs would be kind of tedious so wanted to see if there was a workaround? Is there an easier way to see my milage and information that pops up?
There is no method to have a "external," or standalone, display for that small screen (that I know of at least). Odometer information is stored internal to the gauge cluster itself (NOT the car). While some OBD apps and scan tools may be able to pull the odometer info, to have those act as permanent displays is not really feasible or practical.
That said, you can replace that small screen using parts from a junkyard donor. You can find used clusters cheap enough on eBay and just salvage that small screen. Forum member iCrap posted this thread when he swapped from the red to the white screen so that might have some useful information for you. If you are able, you might want to try disassembling the cluster and "poke around." Could be as simple as a loose ribbon cable between circuit boards.
Also, that small LED screen, and the cluster in general, receives a ton of information from the UMAC amp, It is possible there may a issue with the amp not working properly. For the heck of it I would check all of the fuses just in case.

Will check them tomorrow. Thanks. Will update the thread on what I find. There could be something going on cause all my window except for the drivers side won’t go down or up anymore
YES actually. Having water coming from the cowl I think whenever I go through a car wash or it rain. I already rerouted the sunroof drains to empty out by the AC drain but I’m still getting water in. So I’ve been trying to figure this out as well. Any thoughts on what it could be?

These windows work on a serial communications link (mini network) whereas each window motor gets a signal from the driver-side master switch before they operate. Even the passenger switch(es), when pressed, have to get "permission" from the master switch before the motor will move.
That said, this com link also "talks" to the BCM- mainly for RAP and accessory operation (when you open the windows with the fob, for example). Additionally, the BCM also "talks" to the cluster (via CAN). At this point, I would venture a guess the BCM has suffered from water damage.
Is it possible the driver-side master switch went bad? Yes, it has happened to others before. However, given your other symptoms and the fact you have water intrusion issues, I doubt it is the window system or switch(es).
I would first resolve the water issue before trying to solve the other problems.
