AC Fresh Air and Recirculation Mode Randomly Switches
AC Fresh Air and Recirculation Mode Randomly Switches
I have a 2010 G37x sedan and when I have the AC or heater on, it randomly changes from recirculation to fresh air mode. It goes the other way too but not as frequently. This issue mainly affects the AC, it happens when the heater is on but the temperature of hot air is not affected as much as cold air.
It will work once in a while and stay in recirculation and the air will be cold. But most of the time it'll randomly switch and this will cause the air to not be cold, it's not hot but barely cool. It's better to have the window open.
I thought it might be the air intake actuator (27730-JK61A) so I replaced it but it didn't resolve the issue. So I went to a mechanic who stated it just might need to be calibrated. He scanned for codes and nothing stood out. He then reset the codes and it seemed to have fixed the problem but in a day, it started up again. He checked the low side pressure and it showed 40psi (at about 80F ambient) and he said it was good.
I went back to the mechanic and he said it might be a bad connection on the fresh air/recirculation button of the climate control module. He said replacing the entire climate control module might fix it.
Has anyone else had the same issue with fresh air/recirculation switching on its own and it resulting yhe AC blowing cool (not cold) air?
Not sure what to do here, I'm pretty sure I already wasted $100+ on the actuator which likely didn't need replacing.
