2012 G37x Charging Issue
2012 G37x Charging Issue
Hey everyone,
Just bought a 2012 G37 with 131k miles on it. Problem is, it keeps dying on me. I replaced the battery, positive and negative terminals and unplugged the battery sensor on the negative cable and put in an aftermarket alternator fuse. With the alternator, the guy I bought it from put in a Bosch alternator recently but I got a used OEM from a junk yard from a 2011 g37 and put it in but I'm still have the same issue. The voltage reads 12.8 on the battery but when I start it, it reads 12.3-12.4 and never goes above that, regardless of whether that voltage regulator is plugged in or not. The alternator harness has the tab broken but it stays connected to the alternator and I put some electrical tape around it to at least keep it in place. I'm not sure what the issue is and don't want to drive it yet as it may just die on me again.
As for engine codes, I threw a scanner from amazon on it and it said the stored codes were P0603 and P0106 and P0198. Not sure what the next steps should be. Could I just be having bad alternators? Could it be the wiring or ECM?
Appreciate any help
