Any ideas on this radio/LCD issue?

Longtime lurker and just joined the forums.

I have encountered an issue with my 2010 G37 radio/display for the better part of a year and cannot take it anymore - it’s fairly annoying.

When I start the car up the display screen flickers (Infinity logo comes and goes) and the speakers crack in and out in unison with the screen flickering.

This eventually stops, although sometimes it takes a couple of hours, and everything works like it should.

I am unable to use the radio, Bluetooth or anything else related to it while the flickering goes on.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced this? Maybe connectors going bad?

What I don’t understand is how it eventually kicks in and starts working normally.

Thank you for any insight/help you can provide.

Bummer. That's like a computer that keeps trying to reboot, which I guess is what it is. Since it eventually does get past the startup cycle my guess is either an internal cold solder joint or a corroded connector which eventually "warms up" enough to function properly. If I were you I'd probably look for a new main AV unit and swap yours out. It has to be the same part number (non-nav) and there are quite a few on Ebay right now for reasonable $. There are a couple other smaller components involved but I would suspect your main "radio" box is what's failing.

You might want to grab your AV Factory Service Manual here:
https://www.nicoclub.com/service-man...F2010%2FAV.pdf
(That's for a 2010 sedan)
Scroll down below the viewing window on that page and you can "Click here to download a copy".
