Here is my problem, The "pivot" that connect the transmission rod to the gear shifter together. broke. So I went to the junkyard and took an pivot for the AWD instead of the stud. After installing it, I thought it would of been easy but every time my friend and I tried to adjust it to where the last imprint was, we couldn't. but we were able to screw the nut but I wasn't able to see the P not the N sign on the dash. I am able to start the car on the N by playing with the gear shifter until I see the N and push the start button. Im thinking of either going to a shop and have them adjust it to see if it works but if your saying its going to cost 7k, I might as well send it to Kenny u pull junk yard lmao or park it and get another transmission.

I have the 2009 g37xs sedan.

In your case it definitely sounds like the shifter rod needs to be adjusted. Like many things it can be a finicky PITA but doable all the same.

Thank you, I will set up an appointment at the dealer or any garage and have them adjust it, because my friend have tried everything with a big F. Next he was willing to take apart the control valve assembly haha.

@flipmode007 Just had a afterthought... If you have not already, read through this thread. Your issue could be with the "PNP" module where the contacts are just dirty.
