Infiniti G37X Sedan non sport brake upgrade

Hello looking to upgrade the stock brakes on my 2013 G37X sedan with 17 inch stock rims and I was curious on which calipers I would need for the specific kit I am looking at. Currently looking at getting the Z1 motorsports non sport brake upgrade kit and I was wondering if anyone has this kit and has some input on this. I was looking at rock auto at the ultra power front calipers and the dynamic friction rear calipers but I am not sure these will fit with the upgrade kit from Z1. If not does anyone have recommendations on which ones to get? Will I need anything else besides calipers and this brake kit? What are the best brake pads that you guys have found? What do you guys prefer slotted or drilled and slotted? I do like to drive aggressively from time to time. Any input on this would be helpful, thanks.

Hi @Biguno
What's holding you back from a big brake upgrade? Funds?
I definitely think the drilled and slotted rotors look great, but performance gains on a street car are arguable.

If I were to upgrade the non sport brakes, I'd probably bypass replacing the calipers and go with something like this kit, which is just Centric based (one of the largest suppliers of brakes and rotors globally): https://www.z1motorsports.com/brake-...182341b0d6c50a

Maybe while you have the stock calipers off, clean them up a bit.

You are limited by those 17s. Gotta go 18 to fit lager rotors/calipers.
So don't bother swapping calipers if yours aren't broken.
braded lines, synthetic fluid, and more aggressive pads are going to be your improvements. Maybe a firewall brace to improve pedal feel.
there are larger master cylinders available, but you dont want to have grabby brakes.
And don't forget that brakes are only as good as your tires.

The rotors and brake line kit you listed from Z1 will fit your stock caliper setup. Not really sure why you are looking at stock replacement calipers from Rockauto. There's really no reason to replace your calipers unless you go with the Akebono upgrade which would require rotors and pads that fit them.

My calipers are rusted beyond belief the car is originally from Buffalo so the salt has destroyed them. I figured I might as well get new ones for whenever I install the brake kit and have it all done at once. I would like for it all to look new I know its not the end of the world but it would be off putting to me having new rotors and completely rusted out calipers.

Yes funds are the only thing holding me back from a big brake upgrade I would like to do that in the future. The only reason I am looking at getting new stock calipers for that brake kit is because the ones I have are rusted beyond belief the car is originally from Buffalo so the salt has destroyed them. Not sure if the ones I found on Rockauto would fit that brake kit or if I should look somewhere else for stock calipers.

By all means, get new calipers. If keeping your originals after 10 years in Buffalo winters, you would probably have to have them media blasted, and then rebuild the cylinders. That's way too much effort for little sliding calipers. So just get new ones.

Drilled and slotted rotors are nothing but bling on a DD, and brake system bling looks really lame with a small caliper setup, so just get blanks. But if you absolutely have to do something with your new rotors, then just get the slots.
