Strange clicking noise

Good night , good morning , good afternoon! My 2009 G37x has been making a strange clicking/rattling sound for a little while now. Car drives normal, gets beat here n there for ****s n giggles but it’s been making a clicking noise for a while now.

Motor mounts? Balancing issue? Any help / anyone who has had a similar problem please help.

Sent video in for better understanding. Thanks guys/gals!

Hello:

I would suggest picking up a mechanic's stethoscope if you can't localize the rattle, or taking it in to have someone diagnose it. You could use some ramps on the front end it drive it up on for easier access.

Good luck,

Rick

My armchair analysis is that it might be one of these things:

* broken swaybar end link
* loose connection in the exhaust system
* under panel or shielding loose
* loose belt

Does the frequency of the rattle increase with RPMs, or is it fairly steady the whole time? Have you done any mods or work on the car recently? When was your last oil change?

My under panel is completely shot I can’t lie. Ever since the day I got the car it’s been loose but it’s like that under the entire car. The rattling is more just towards the front of the vehicle.

It’s steady the whole time no matter if it’s at 2k rpm or 5k rpm , car is completely stock , last oil change was about 2000 miles ago but even after the oil change, the rattle continued.

This sound is probably the heat shield under the driver seat, or its the arm that stabilizes the exhaust to the bolt on the transmisssion pan, jack it up and youll see what im saying.

Best way to also confirm this is get a pry bar to lightly provide tension to the exhaust system in various spots on the heat shield or move it away from the broken arm piece.
