G37S 6MT Standing Burnout
G37S 6MT Standing Burnout
(REPOST because I never got an answer months ago)
Hello all, I finally got done with my yaw sensor switch (works like a charm!) I know to do a standing burnout at least in the autos you have to pull the brake light fuse or set up a switch for it, but I was curious if that was necessary for the manuals. Also, has anyone found a method to have the car think the fuse is out/switch is flipped, while keeping the brake lights operational?

Huh? If I'm launching the car with TC off, I have to try hard just to avoid spin, wide summer-only tires notwithstanding. TC off, heavy throttle, pop the clutch, and your rear will spin place like butter.

I meant more just a constant standing "bye bye tires" burnout with the brake and the gas. I haven't tried it yet but just curious because with the 7AT the brake fuse needs to be pulled so the car doesn't cut power when gas and brake is applied at the same time. Was just curious if it had to be pulled for the 6MT.
You can enable this with Uprev with ARC or Ecutek full without any physical change.
For DIY you'll need to locate pin 122 in the ecm and place a switch in between so it cuts the feed of brake input to the ECM and doesnt let it cut.
A switch will be needed or it will throw a CEL. It will still throw the CEL however a re-start with the sw enabled and your lights will be off.

Not sure if you need this mod or not on the 6MT.
But taking advice from @Rochester find a track or other approved burnout location and see what happens. if you dont get the response you need, then try installing the mod and see if that gets you where you want to be.
Once you figure all of this out, update this thread with your reuslts for the next person down the road who may have the same concern.

Well, any place can be an approved burnout location if you're willing to man up when you get in trouble.
It's a crazy thing to see an entire neighborhood get filled with white smoke. Can't say as I recommend it, but it's a sight to see nonetheless. Kind of like burning off Seafoam.

It depends on what is it you're trying to achieve. Sometimes during a Burnout you release the brake and re-apply. Sometimes to shift to 2nd gear, sometimes to do a rolling burnout.
The car might allow a standing burnout however as soon as it reads front wheel speed it will kill the accelerator.
