Hello everyone!
I just bought a 2011 G37X to replace my 87 Supra than burnt up.
I have the Code P0420. It definitely the bank 1 cat, the carfax said it had cat replaced, it did but just bank 2 . Its pretty new.
My exhaust guy believes it was replaced with OEM one.
He also said I "should match it".
Another option is the used Forced Induction Hi Flow cats on here, or the isr high flow cats also for sale on here.
My main question is can i run those type of cats without any issues. I am getting old and not up to modding anymore so everything else will be factory
I definitely can afford $900 for a factory cat.
Unless the one cat was replaced real early in the life if the car, it's good practice to replace both at the same time.
You know, there are aftermarket high-flow cats which don't throw codes. And when matched with the OEM catback, the added rumble is just a little bit deeper and a little bit louder, but neither so much as anyone but you would notice. Along with that, you'll get a little extra grunt, even untuned.
What's a "forced induction high flow cat"? Never heard of that brand.
Sucks about that MK3. Timeless design in a sport coupe.
