The only "downfall" I could see is the lack of city/ parking lights. This may/ not be a issue for you or your jurisdiction (if safety inspections are performed (which are subjective in the first place)). Around here, every exterior bulb is scrutinized (even my mirror lamps).

But, if you're happy with it, and have no issues, then good luck with it!

Here in Canada our headlights are on at all times, and there's still the amber marker lights from the 194 bulbs in the top of the headlight so no issue here. Why do they check your mirror lamps for a safety inspection?

Hm, news to me that side mirrors have turn signal lamps (at least stateside).

And I guess folks drive around with just the parking lights on (there's a position for that on the light switch after all), but I've never done so. So no big deal for me.

And the chance my city's DMV knows that those lights are meant to be on when the headlights are on is as close to zero as it can get

Ah, I thought you meant headliner mirrors since I haven't seen a G with mirror signals.

The switch is actually strange in Canada, you have off-on-auto, but you can't drive with your headlights or tail lights off. If the car is on and the parking brake is off your front and rear lights are on. Switch only controls the brightness of your dash/console, and maybe the license plate lights.

Correct to both. The G didn't come factory with mirror turn signals, or "winkers" as Nissan calls them. They were a optional accessory available overseas. I added the OEM kit several years ago.

Ahhhh kinda figured it was option on non-USDM models

They look neat, nice way to customize your cars look while keeping the OEM vibe (which is generally my approach to aesthetics as well)

My car is a Frankenstein of different Nissan/ Infiniti parts/ mods. By keeping it "all in the family" everything gets along and plays nicely.

You do not need any "CANBUS error-free" bulbs for the G37.

I always use Diode Dynamics for LED bulbs. Never had any issues except with one bulb and their top-notch customer service replaced it ASAP. While on the topic of lighting, for HID bulbs I recommend The Retrofit Source (though I believe they also sell LED bulbs).

I would strongly suggest you stay away from the cheap crap on Amazon or eBay. With those you never know what you are getting but that is my 10¢ opinion.
