So a few nights before Thanksgiving, I was waiting to make a left to my home and boom I got rear ended. Car was still driveable but surely dont look the same. My child and I was ok. But my anger was on level 10 for the 1st 2min.
First week of Dec, my car was dropped off after my damages were approved for repair. When the auto shop removed the bumper, they found additional damages. Once again I was approved for the repairs. Most of the parts were difficult to find, my shop wanted to use brand new parts. 3 different rental cars later I just got my G back yesterday.
They ALWAYS find additional damage. That's how they make their money. And it took 4 months just to fix a bumper??? Post up your invoice.
It's been a long wait. From the looks of the damage it doesn't look that bad, all the other supporting parts behind the bumper was damage. Before additional damages it was roughly over $3k. Think someone on here had a post about a rear end collision around the same time as my accident and they were total by insurance. With 200k miles, I thought I be next. But an additional $3k was added on to the invoice. Shop could have screwed me and put parts from a junk yard but they insisted using new parts. I'm ok with that. On top of that my starter failed probably from old age and sitting for a long time. They replaced it for free. A large bubbled rust on my door that I hide with touch up paint, was fixed for free. I had originally wanted a quote to eventually fix it later. I'm satisfied on how they took care of me. And the 3 months of rental $$. I don't know what distracted the other driver, but he hit the wrong G with full coverage.
A tedious experience but that is a fine result and it looks like a new car! Very kind of your insurance company to go the extra mile. And the body shop to do the bonus repair work, wow!
Same kind of rear-ender with one of our G's a couple years back and Farmer's did a similar thing. Only catch was, our right-side rear lamp had a chip at the bottom and they wanted to find an aftermarket replacement. Instead I bought an OEM and had it shipped straight to the body shop. End results were good.

Glad you a great outcome too.
My patience paid off well this outcome.
