Engine Noise/Tick Not any common issue
Hello, so I noticed after doing some pulls that my engine was making a noise like a Cummins. it is primarily coming from the back left of the engine, where the purge valve solenoid is I know there is a lot of valve train noise and I know that my valve cover gaskets are leaking. I checked the purge valve solenoid as it read it is a common problem by blowing into it to see if it was sealed and indeed no air leaked when blowing from either side. Any Ideas on what it possibly could be? I know this has probably been discussed before, so sorry. I have been reading through these forums forever trying to figure out what it is.
Same problem here
I just started hearing the same noise from the same place, ticking noise from the back of the engine, more towards the left side. Some people are saying it’s lifter tick, others an exhaust leak, some say it’s the evap solenoid, and others say it’s normal. It doesn’t sound normal to me because I just started hearing it. It sounds kind of like a sewing machine to me. I don’t want to just start throwing parts at it. Did you figure it out? My valve covers are also leaking, going to change the VCG this weekend. 08 G37S coupe
