Thank very much! I was confused but I se that it was a separate manual I had to download that contained this info and not included in the pdf for the interior lighting.

im Specifically looking at a 14' QX70 whose headliner lights do not work including the dome lights. The dome receives power as the sunroof opens and closes but stumped as to why the lights arent receiving power. I used my multimeter to test the power at the bulb socket for on e of the dome lights and it as reading .24 which I believe is two low as the enclosure area states 12v 8w. With that I want to start moving up the stream from the harness that plugs into the headliner (R11) and down to where it falls underneath the drivers side pillar at points R1 and R7.

Sunroof and Interior Lights are two entirely separate circuits. They share nothing in common. Do not assume anything just because the "sunroof works." The G37 manuals might have some similarities with the QX70, but that vehicle is more in line with the FX's than the G's.

Yes your definitely right, I was seeing that just because they join at the connector doesnt mean they are together. I have only been going with fx parts when rebuilding this car but there were times when I wanted to pull parts of my G to see if it would just get the job done lol.

so in the picture you provided its similar to whats in the service manual for the qx70, however R1 also has a connector near it called R7 and that provides power for the sunroof I believe. With that being said I checked continuity from the Dome to ground and from Dome to R1 and R7 and everything checked out. I have now worked my way towards it being a problem at the BCM or TICM. TICM harness has continuity to the R2 but not sure if the TICM itself is working so going to see if I can get a new one to swap it out as im not sure how else to test it. The BCM isnt showing continuity but im getting number which just shows me that its going through something in the bcm like a transistor. Believe it or not im going to check again but the connectors like R11,R2,R1,R7,M106,M110 etc which is what I needed for this did not have a pinout.. Im going to check again but every connector had a pinout except for those lol.

So, apparently the TICM is something new. It does not apply to the G37/ Q50/60's so that is why I am unaware of it nor what it does. Just another (likely) unnecessary component to complicate things. Without a wiring diagram for this thing I would be of no use here. That said, it sounds like you know what you are doing and making progress.

As for connectors and pinouts, here, at times, there is no rhyme nor reason why some connectors are shown on the diagrams and while others are not. For Nissan, what seems obvious isn't. I have noticed that if you look at different sections (ie. different components that share the same branch harness) often times the connector and pinouts are there.

Keep me/ us updated, plz...

Ah I see, Yea I don't remember having to deal with that ever on my Q or G so makes sense! Long story short your right it's basically another module to complicate things lol. Thankfully I still have a fx at a junkyard Ive been scavenging parts from so glad I didnt waste my time going to pick a G or Q apart at a location closer to me since they dont have a ticm.

Trust me youve been a tremendous help since I wasnt sure what to look at in the beginning but now that I got ahold of the proper manual and what to look for it all makes sense to me!

Haha thank you! Yea its somewhat of a progress, I have a bad habit of tinkering with every car I get so its always a kind of constant project.

Absolutely I have definitely seen some things as the majority of my experience is with Infiniti so im left scratching my head a lot of the times, I will do some digging if necessary but I may have better luck running continuity between wires first.

Yes definitely! For pure research purposes for future users I have been taking videos and photos of most of my projects that I plan on uploading eventually but Iv also been documenting everything on the G, Q, and QX forums under this name or Obutane. I will 100% update once everything is solved but my money is on the TICM.

Ok it is solved!

So I was able to run continuity between everything without much issue which had me stumped, I then decided that the most reasonable answer to this problem was that something internal to the TICM was the issue so I went to the junkyard and picked up two just in case. Immediately after installing the new one it worked, and then immediately stopped working. I was worried that a short was occuring or the BCM was corrupted and sending the TICM bad info but I found out that technically the TICM gets power directly from the battery or IPDM and the BCM is handling basic functions with 12v such as turning the lights on when doors are open etc. The issue is that after taking apart the TICM and tracing connections there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. I cleaned the connector from the vehicle harness and even removed its faceplate for a better connection and nothing it was still clicking on and off causing the lights to do the same. The internal Relay making the clicking noise was not malfunctioning but instead it was old and depended on a few variables. I decided to install the module properly upside down and lo and behold the lights turned on and stayed on without any issue! The relays in the module needed to be upside down at its installed angle to function properly and everything else worked like a charm!
