Transmission hesitates when going into drive.

I have a 2009 Infiniti G37x with the automatic 7 speed transmission. So recently when I get in and start the car, it will immediately go into reverse and back out into neutral but when I go into drive… it takes a few seconds. Sometimes it can take up to around 7 or 8 seconds. After it is in drive it runs and drives fine. I tried to check the transmission fluid but I couldn’t find the dipstick? Does anyone know what causes this or have any suggestions on what to do?
